Lone Aarup Poulsen - Nature in a Bottle
WORKSHOP //Lone (aka She Came From North) grew up in Denmark surrounded by nature. With her father, Lone foraged wild ingredients in the forest and by the sea, and from her mother she learned how to turn modest produce from the garden into delicious food. Today Lone carries on the tradition during her workshops and dinners in her kitchen in Amsterdam and outdoors in the wild. Using the ingredients and cooking methods she grew up with, she creates new and exciting eating and drinking experiences full of the pure and natural flavours of the North.
In the North, there is a long-standing tradition of making your own snaps and liqueurs with herbs, berries and nuts that have been forraged in the wild or grown in the garden. In this hands-on workshop, you will taste the highlights of Lone’s homemade liquers (one is more than 12 years old) and learn how to create your own unique liqueur, flavoured with ingredients that reflect your identity and heritage. The liqueur will add an extra touch of personality to your dinner parties and make a fun and personal gift for a loved one.
