Egon Bloem - Way of the scout
WORKSHOP // The scout lives in the forest, apart from the tribe. He is the invisible guardian of the tribe, always alert, silent, and self-reliant. He explores unknown terrain, searches for a suitable winter camp for the tribe, and tracks where food can be found. His eyes and ears register everything that happens beyond the village, and he quietly brings his knowledge back to the tribe. His presence is subtle, yet his role for the tribe is indispensable. Egon Bloem brought the ancient knowledge of the Shadow Scout from America to Europe. For years, he trained directly under Tom Brown Jr., who was himself taught by the Apache elder "Stalking Wolf", also known as Grandfather. Egon deepened his skills with other instructors like John Young and Joe Lau, all inheritors of this ancient tradition. After 12 years of teaching, first 7 years with children, then 5 years with teenagers, Egon now shares this knowledge with adults. His approach blends centuries-old wisdom with practical applications for modern life.
During Campfire Stories Egon will lead 4 different workshops;
Introduction Lecture: The Scout’s Way of Life & The 10 Foundations of the Scout.
Scout Adventure at night
Morning Workshop: Scout Movement
Afternoon Workshop: Scout Camouflage
"Live as a scout: more deeply connected to nature, more alert in every moment, with ancient skills as your compass for modern life."
