Selfa Verlaat, founder
Selfa curates nature experiences. She designs and builds places where people can reconnect with themselves, nature and other people in a safe, comfortable environment. She has over twenty years of experience organising international events for brands like Nike, Toms and Heineken. Working in the corporate world, Selfa saw colleagues and peers burning out and knew there was something that could be done about it. So she pulled together all the good things in life – all the things that enable her to stay grounded, feel re-energised and get inspired. The result was Campfire Stories.
Selfa likes: Fires, walking barefoot, wild adventures, breaking out into song and hugs.
Selfa dislikes: Big ego’s, time indoors, e-mailing.
Esther Brokke, Cheerleader
Esther is Selfa’s righthand woman – her partner in crime. She’s been a part of the fabric of Campfire Stories since the beginning, not always in an official capacity, but as someone to brainstorm ideas with, get feedback from and go on research trips with. Whatever was needed, Esther was there. Together with Selfa she also runs the speaker agency Changemaker Stories.
Esther likes: Good stories, great food, houseplants, adventures with Selfa, type 2 fun, time in good company and with (new) friends.
Esther dislikes: Cold feet and unfinished business.

Jody Daunton, Head of Photography
Jody is an incredible image-maker and visual storyteller and is responsible for all the photography on our website and the majority that goes out on our channels. As well as this, at the past three editions of Campfire Stories Gathering, Jody has shared his visual storytelling skills in one of our workshops, teaching people how to see stories through the lens and capture them.
Jody likes: hiking in the mountains, wild camping, road trips and cryptocurrency.
Jody dislikes: seafood, spiders, brands that talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.
