Erik schoppen - Draw your own brain
WORKSHOP // Join us for Draw Your Own Brain, a hands-on workshop led by neuroscientist and behavioral expert Erik Schoppen. He invites you to explore how our brains and bodies are deeply connected to the natural world around us, and how this connection shapes the way we perceive and experience reality. Through simply drawing schematic parts of your brain and guided reflection, you’ll discover how perception works in your brain, how emotions act as signal substances that influence your thoughts, feelings and actions, and how you can harness this knowledge for both creative and cognitive insight. The session culminates in the creation of your own hand-drawn ‘brain atlas’ — a personal visual map filled with intuitive patterns and meaningful insights. After just one hour, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how your mind works, how trust and emotion are formed, and a symbolic artwork that reflects your inner landscape.
Erik Schoppen (1968) researched the connection between trust and sustainability at the University of Groningen (Behavioral and Social Sciences, Cognitive Neuroscience). He holds a master’s in virtual media and technology (Advanced Studies in Emergent Media) and graduated as a designer from Academie Minerva in Groningen, bringing a strong creative background in arts and design. Erik studies the effects of biological and technological trust systems on our brain and society, and developed the Build Bridge Bond method for building sustainable (brand) trust relationships. As an internationally sought-after speaker on rebuilding trust in a sustainable future, he is also co-author of the bestselling book Strategic Brand Management (BNL Dutch Edition). He lectures Brand Management, Design Innovation, Neuroscience, Psychology and Sustainable Behavior at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen and other international institutes.
