Storytelling Day workshop
The workshop
Learning storytelling skills is learning how to best communicate. The two are one of the same. This is because humans feel before we think. Before our logical brain kicks in, we listen with our emotional brain. If we recite facts and figures to people, they won’t connect with us – in fact, often they switch off entirely. This isn’t what we want.
In this day-long, outdoor workshop, we will learn how to introduce storytelling into our communications and presentations – be that on video conferences, in board rooms, in client meetings or simply with friends around the fire. We’ll explore how to successfully use personal anecdotes to add colour, create empathy and incite drama. Through engaging audiences, you can get them onside and win them over with your ideas.
Covid-19
Safety is highly important to us and we’ll be taking the appropriate measures throughout the workshop and all Campfire Stories activities. The luxury of being outdoors is that this is where we are most safe. We can gather in spaces while keeping our distance, abiding by regulations and keeping one another safe.
So why not take it outside?

The details
This is a day workshop – running time 10am-5pm (CET), with approximately one-hour lunch break. The workshop will be a mix of coaching and breakout sessions.
A delicious hearty lunch will be provided for you and prepared over fire with local produce, and hot drinks will be available throughout the day. In line with our environmental values, we ask that attendees bring their own water flasks and mugs – drinking water will be available. We can cater to most dietary requirements, but please get in touch to discuss.
The workshop will be held on the beautiful grounds of Roggebotstaete, a young nature reserve and experimental garden in the Flevoland polder – an oasis in the reclaimed land taken from the sea. The workshop will take place outdoors, however, we will have shelter and warmth from the fire. But wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring layers.
